The Illinois-based CSMG represents about 200 athletes in baseball, football, basketball and golf, and has offices in Chicago; Houston; Atlanta; Phoenix; Columbia, South Carolina; Puerto Rico; and the Dominican Republic.
Before serving as president of Madison Square Garden, Gutkowski was previously president of the Marquee Group, a sports marketing firm that SFX Entertainment Inc. bought in 1998 for $100million.
Based in New York, Gutkowski will work alongside CSMG chairman and chief executive officer Alan Nero.
Gutkowski commented: ``This is exciting territory. My aim is to grow the business and bring in new opportunities."

Former Madison Square Garden president Bob Gutkowski has joined sports representation and marketing company CSMG as a vice chairman.
