Ukraine has been hit by political turmoil and mass protests since the election last week officially won by Russian-backed Viktor Yanukovich was denounced by the opposition as rigged.
Reuters reports that Barcelona chairman Joan Laporta sent a letter to UEFA expressing his concerns that the international impact of the game might be taken advantage of given the instability in the country, the Spanish club said on its website on Tuesday.
Laporta asked for UEFA's opinion on the game "owing to the delicate social and political situation which has arisen as a result of the recent elections and the period of insecurity which Ukraine is currently going through".
