The IPC is working with Texthelp Systems Ltd to utilise a new accessibility tool, BrowseAloud, for the IPC website.
BrowseAloud is a tool that speech-enables website content.
This free-of-charge service helps people with reading difficulties to listen to, rather than read, the content of a website. By simply placing the cursor on the text, BrowseAloud will read out what is written. It assists in the navigation of the IPC website for many persons, including those with low literacy and reading skills, a mild visual impairment or dyslexia.
The IPC’s aim is to ensure that the content and the services provided on its website are accessible for all users to further spread the vision and mission of the Paralympic Movement.
BrowseAloud is already used on the websites of UEFA, the London 2012 Olympic Games organising committee and the BBC.
