The event has received the backing of Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed bin Hammam, who said it was an “integral part of football” and that he looked forward to being part of it.

Jon Collins, the Chief Executive of Football Asia, said the event was a “long overdue step for the football industry”, which would link European football and Asian interests.

The date and venue of the inaugural Soccerex Asian Forum will be announced at Football Asia’s launch event in Singapore on October 26.
