England plays a friendly against Hungary on August 11 at Wembley in their first game after its disappointing FIFA World Cup campaign in South Africa. Individual tickets will be available for £15 each while family tickets for two adults and two children will cost £30.
“We fully understand the fans and the wider public anger and frustration. We appreciate that thousands of people spent huge amounts of money to travel to South Africa and understandably feel very let down,” said Club England managing director Adrian Bevington.
“We accept it is going to take time to rebuild the trust with the fans. It may be that the crowd for the Hungary game is low in comparison with other Wembley crowds. That’s understandable.”
The FA now has three weeks to sign a replacement for the Nationwide deal or face going into the Hungary friendly without a main sponsor.
