Compass, the consumer credit arm of the Mediobanca group, has agreed a deal that will see it continue to back Italy’s national team through 2014, taking in UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Compass has marked the renewal by launching a national team-themed credit card entitled Carta Viva Azzurra.
“With large satisfaction and enthusiasm we continue for another four years our partnership with the Italian national team and for this we thank the Italian Football Federation for confirming us as a top sponsor,” said Roberto Ferrari, director of marketing and partnerships for Compass. “For Compass to accompany the adventure of the national team on the occasion of the next European Championship and World Cup represents a privilege and a great opportunity to align itself with the passions and dreams of Italians.”
Meanwhile, leading fashion house Dolce & Gabbana will continue in its role as the official formalwear provider to the national team through 2014. The partnership was first forged for Italy’s World Cup triumph in 2006 and will be enhanced to include the Under-21 team.
