Wijeratna, who has been with Tottenham since November 2010, was previously responsible for the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games' (LOCOG) commercial negotiations. He was also part of the London 2012 bid team from its inception in 2003 and previously worked in sports television for Sky TV and as a lawyer with Clifford Chance.
