The agreement with the German sports marketing agency has been brokered by the Spanish Football Federation’s (RFEF) global marketing partner Santa Monica Sports. It comprises television, internet and mobile rights across Spain’s qualifying campaign for the World Cup, including all home friendlies played during this period.
UFA Sports will market the rights in China, India, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines. Spain will take on France, Belarus, Georgia and Finland in Group I of the European World Cup qualifiers.
“Enthusiasm for the cream of European football in Asia’s emerging markets continues to enjoy significant growth,” said Robert Muller von Vultejus, managing director of UFA Sports. “We expect record-breaking TV ratings for Spanish matches across Asia.”
